Russia's Main Tank
This is a 1/35 scale R/C assembly kit model of the famous WWII Russian T-34-85 tank which forced the invading German forces to develop the Tiger and Panther tanks to counter its strength. The gearboxes are loaded at the rear of the chassis which comes pre-assembled with small motors. The lumbering movement of the T-34-85 can be seen once it is put in action. The included motor features a connector to make wiring less complicated. The resin belt-type tracks provide the model with added scale realism. Additionally, there is only one gearbox to control both the turret rotation and gun barrel elevation. Installed at the front of the model is a MC-04 unit which controls the motor operation. The upper hull and main gun feature accurate scale realism as seen with Tamiya's famous 1/35 scale Military Miniature models.
Turret can complete a full 360 rotation in 25 seconds. When placed under excessive force, the three knobs on the lower part of the gun turret come off to prevent damage to the gears.
The 85mm gun can be elevated 12 degrees and depressed 5 degrees.
The turret gearbox controls both the turret rotation and gun elevation. The outer ring rotates the turret, and the metal shaft moves up and down to control gun elevation.
About the T-34-85
The Russian T34-76 rudely shocked the German Panzer divisions with its arrival and strength which triggered the development of Tiger and Panther tanks. From this, an improved T-34-85 entered the fray with an improved 3-man turret design and a more powerful 85mm gun. In addition, the T-34-85 had a streamlined lighter body and was fitted with a V12 liquid cooled diesel engine which produced 500hp. From the end of 1943 through to June 1945, approximately 29,000 units were produced and together with the T-34-76, they played an active part in driving out the Germans from Russia and continued in service even after the war.
