The 6 minute epoxy glue is used for simple bonding where elaborate alignment is not required. Working time (before it is too viscous for use) is about 5 minutes, within 15 minutes the part can be handled with care. Total healing is achieved in about 1 hour.

Epoxy adhesives are among the strongest adhesives used in model making. They glue a wide variety of materials. They are also very good for laminating wood sheets, because they do not cause ripples like those that use water as a solvent.

Great Planes has two epoxy adhesive formulations available. Use them when bonding requires exceptional strength, such as when installing a fire wall, wing panels, etc. Like most epoxy glues, you should mix equal parts resin and hardener, mix well and then apply a thin film to each part to be glued. The pieces should be immobilized until the glue has fully cured. Before curing, wipe off excess glue with a paper towel. Warning: Do not use an extra amount of hardener in the hope of making the mixture harder or faster to cure. All epoxy adhesives work best with exactly a 50/50 blend. When you increase the amount of hardener you risk making the cured epoxy brittle or rubbery, and neither is as strong as a properly mixed amount.
