Sometimes, all it takes to turn jitters before a maneuver into an "Ahhh!" afterwards is just a little bit more power from your pack. That requires getting the most from each cell – and that's where ElectriFly excels.

Top-quality Power Series LiPo packs discharge at an impressive 20C rate. And now, they're available in balanced packs which allow you to equalize (balance) the voltage of each cell in a pack.

The Equinox LiPo Cell Balancer offers two easy ways to equalize cells and maximize pack performance. Connect it directly to a balanced pack, and it's a gentle cell-by-cell discharger. It starts by bringing the voltages of all cells into balance, and then monitors each cell until it's completely discharged. As a result, the voltages of individual cells end up within just a few millivolts of each other. Connect the Equinox between a balanced pack and a LiPo charger, and it brings all cells into balance at the same voltage, before charging each cell to its absolute, individual peak of power. Using the Equinox LiPo Cell Balancer to discharge or charge is good. Doing both not only ensures maximum voltage from the pack, but longer pack life, as well.

Connect the Equinox to a 2-5 cell (7.4V-18.5V) pack in "Quick-Balance Mode", and it simultaneously balances cell voltages while discharging each cell at a gentle 120mA rate. Discharging terminates when each cell reaches 2.75V. Works with all LiPo packs series-wired for balancing.

In "Interface Mode", the Equinox balances and maintains voltages until each cell reaches its maximum charge (4.2V!). More volts mean more power and more performance for every model, including 3D aerobats! Because cells are balanced, individual cells can't be overcharged. This not only prevents pack failures, but helps packs last longer, too. It eliminates the need for special "balancing" LiPo chargers — and works with all of the chargers shown below. This is the Great Planes ElectriFly Equinox LiPo Balancer. For LiPo (Lithium Polymer) battery packs with 2 to 5 cells, assembled IN SERIES and wired for Balancing. NOT Compatible with LiPo packs having a 2-pin Charge lead.

Unlike some Balancers, Equinox has two separate functions: QUICK-BALANCE MODE: applies a small Discharge current to gently Balance voltages of all cells in a LiPo pack. INTERFACE MODE: allows the Equinox to be used with a separate Charger or Discharger whereby it will monitor and control how each cell in the LiPo pack is Charged or Discharged. Balanced packs typically charge to the fullest possible safe voltage, meaning more power to the motor system. Also, these packs generally last longer as no individual cell becomes overcharged. Overcharging is one reason why LiPo packs fail
